A new kind of peace-making is emerging focused on solutions rather than issues. Based in part on the theories of positive psychology, change and transformation and living social systems this new movement seeks to bring attention to the myriad acts of peace that are already occurring everyday, around the world and encouraging more. Research over the past 40 years has taught us that the most effective and sustainable changes are those that are driven toward a vision of a positive future rather than trying to fix what is broken. By bringing attention to every act of peace, or what we call "active peace" we turn toward peace and solutions, seeking to create the conditions for the change we believe is both possible and inevitable. Million Ideas for Peace is a unique program/movement/organization that seeks to link networks of peace-maker together and create the conditions for three kinds of peace; what pioneer family therapist, Virginia Satir described as peace within, peace between and peace among.
