Further opportunities:

  • Gertrud Baer Seminar and International Board Meeting
This is a truly amazing opportunity for young women to engage with the international governance of WILPF.  In 2008, we sent two young women as representatives to the year's meeting.  Robin and Monika blogged daily from Geneva at http://www.wilpf.blogspot.com.  More information on the 2008 International Board meeting is available at http://www.wilpf.int.ch/events/2008IB/index.html.
  • Practicum in Advocacy at the UN Commission on the Status of Women
This opportunity is provided by WILPF in conjunction with the National Women's Studies Association for young women in undergraduate and graduate degree programs to strengthen their skill-set in advocacy, increase their knowledge of international women's issues, and gain valuable contacts and insight into UN processes.  The practicum normally takes place between late February and early March each year.  Alongside the official discussions and reports, NGOs typically sponsor hundreds of "side events": panels, workshops, performances and more addressing local and international issues affecting women.  Information about the 2009 UN Practicum is available at http://wilpf.org/practicum_un_2009.   Information about the 2010 Practicum will be posted soon.
