Type of event: Webinar

Organisers: This webinar is organised by the Peace & Demilitarisation Working Group of the Women & Gender Constituency for the Global Week of Action for Peace and Climate Justice in support of the wider ‘Draw the Line‘ global movement week of action.

Date & Time: Friday, 19 September 2025, 3pm BST

About the event: How does militarism drive the climate crisis, and why is it ignored in UN climate talks? Join us for a feminist discussion on the connections between war, military spending, emissions, fossil fuels, nuclear power, and climate injustice. We will reflect on what happened at COP29 in Baku, expose the gaps in peace and demilitarisation, and look ahead to COP30 in Belém — an “Implementation COP” that must confront militarism as a barrier to climate justice and a Just Transition.
