*Members Only* Extraordinary Session of the International Congress

At the end of the 33rd International Congress held online in July, the nominated Regional Representative for South Asia was elected as Vice-President thus creating a vacancy for the Regional Representative position. The appointed Alternate Regional Representative was Pushpa Motiyani (WILPF India).
It was therefore decided to reopen the nomination process for this region and for WILPF Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka to meet again as a region and decide who will sit on the International Board (IB) as Regional Representative and Alternate Regional Representative.

The International Board has now called for an Extraordinary Session of the International Congress to be held in November (18-20). The EISC will not be a meeting, but an online voting poll as used during the July Congress.

The ESIC will only make decisions on the points specified in the call for the session. These points are:

1. The endorsement by the ESIC of the South Asia’s nominee for Regional Representative, thereby declaring them a member of the International Board.
2.  The endorsement by the ESIC of the South Asia’s nominee for Alternate Regional Representative, thereby declaring them a member of the International Board.

Congress delegates and alternates will receive more practical information about the voting procedure.
If your Section’s delegates and/or alternates cannot participate, please notify the International Secretariat as soon as possible and submit the contact details of the new delegate(s) who will take part in the voting.
