During the 22nd Congress of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, 31 July – 6 August 1983 in Göteborg, Sweden, WILPF asked Sections to press their governments:
- to put pressure on the United Kingdom and Argentina to resume negotiations as soon as possible under the auspices of the United Nations to avoid further violent conflict and end the British colonial status of the Falkland Islands/Malvinas.
- to call for a UN conference on the demilitarisation of the South Atlantic.
