During the 20th Triennial Congress of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), 11-15 August 1977 in Tokyo, Japan, WILPF recognised that recombinant-DNA technology has a potential for destruction of life comparable to that only of nuclear fission, and shared recommendations.
