Submission to the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). WILPF welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the report on “good practices, lessons learned and challenges faced by states in preventing, mitigating and addressing the diversion of arms and unregulated or illicit arms transfers that have a particular impact on the enjoyment of human by children and youth, and the role of national control systems as effective mechanisms in that regard” requested by Human Rights Council (HRC) resolution 47/17. The call for submissions has noted that for the purpose of the report “children and youth” refers to persons 29 years old and under. In this submission, we highlight some key issues that, in our view, should be addressed in the 2022 OHCHR report and provide some WILPF materials that are relevant to the report
