On the occasion of the International Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRDs) Day, a group of 61 NGOs, including WILPF, wrote to President von daer Leyen, Vice-President Jourova, and Commissioners Breton, Dalliand Reynders, as well as to Members of the European Parliament, and to the European Council’s Working Party on Human Rights (COHOM) and the Company Law Working Party. The letter provides a set of recommendations for a gender-responsive approach to corporate regulation and asks the European Union to address the persistent gender inequalities that prevent many women and girls affected by the activities of European business from leading a safe and prosperous life by incorporating those recommendations in the Sustainable Corporate Governance Directive.
