BROADENING THE GOALPOSTS: FROM PROTECTION TO THE PARTICIPATION OF WOMEN IN PALESTINE, IRAQ, AND YEMEN

This side event will present and discuss the implications of current human rights violations and protection needs of women in the conflict-affected states of Iraq, Yemen and Palestine. It will focus on moving beyond reporting on women’s safety, health and food needs to recognizing women’s participation in social and political life as critical to achieving both protection and peace-building aims.
