9 March , 2026 – 8:00 am – 20 March , 2026 – 5:00 pm

Host: UN Women
Description: The seventieth session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 9 to 20 March 2026.
Themes:
- Priority theme: Ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all women and girls, including by promoting inclusive and equitable legal systems, eliminating discriminatory laws, policies, and practices, and addressing structural barriers
- Review theme: Women’s full and effective participation and decision making in public life, as well as the elimination of violence, for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls (agreed conclusions of the sixty-fifth session)
Open to: Representatives of Member States, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organisations (NGOs) from all regions of the world are invited to attend the session.
How to participate: WILPF can support members with logistical support such as visa support letters and hotel recommendations. WILPF can also provide a limited number of passes. Because passes are limited for in-person participation, a selection process will be created and communicated soon to members (in the meantime, you can contact membership@wilpf.org if you are interested). Because we do not have funds for an official delegation sponsored by WILPF, members are welcome to apply to the Activist Grant (deadline 15 August) or Kay Camp Fund (young members; deadline 31 August).
Usually, registration for CSW opens in October, and events applications are due in November/December.
WILPF IS and members will begin working on a statement for CSW in September. If you would like to contribute, please contact Genevieve.Riccoboni@wilpf.org.
