Global call on WILPF Advocacy in multilateral spaces

In a time when the legitimacy of the multilateral system is more questioned than ever, where should our efforts be directed? How can we refine our advocacy strategies?.

WILPF’s engagement in various multilateral spaces and conferences is subject to ongoing reflection about our collective approach and possible impact. In particular, this follows our participation in this year’s Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), and how we engage in the UN’s Summit of the Future. 

During the call, we will discuss how WILPFers engage in advocacy in different spaces, critically reflect on our involvement in spaces such as CSW, and learn more about upcoming events and conferences.

• Read the CSW68 debrief report
• Read about next year’s CSW69 on the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration
• Food for Thought: Take a moment to read an open letter criticizing the co-opting of multistakeholder spaces by the corporate sector. Reflect on your opinion regarding the issues raised in the letter.
• Internal Discussion: Engage in internal dialogue with members of your section to explore your views on advocacy. Share your ideas, priorities, and strategies for effective advocacy efforts and highlight any upcoming events or initiatives that you believe other WILPFers should be aware of.
