Blue graphic with the WILPF Australia logo, a white dove, and text: Where is the Women, Peace and Security Agenda after 25 years? 1 October 2025, 18:00-19:30 (online).

Host: WILPF Australia

About: On the 25th Anniversary on UN Security Council Resolution 1325 – where are we on making progress on the women, peace and security agenda, and what has been achieved?

After 25 years it is hard to see the progress when increasing numbers of women, girls and civilians are caught up in increasing conflicts across our globe, abused by conflict related sexual and gender based violence, and displaced from their homes, their livelihoods and families, with the prospect of ever increasing militarisation as a sad excuse for deterrence, security, and peace. Have women and peace been lost to increasing global securitisation and militarisation?

What does this mean for the women of Afghanistan, the Pacific and our diverse communities of women in Australia?

Join us and work together in partnership and collaboration to build a sustainable feminist peace.
