WILPF 33rd International Congress

Every three years, Congress brings together members from all over the world to set the policies and direction of our organisation, connect and discuss political issues, and to share knowledge or best practices through workshops, networking events, and discussion spaces.

The International Congress is WILPF’s highest decision-making body. It is responsible for approving WILPF’s International Programme, admitting new Sections, voting for the new International Board, and
deciding on amendments to WILPF’s Constitution and By-Laws. Congress is also an opportunity for WILPF members to engage with one another across geographic boundaries. This will be WILPF’s first-ever online Congress and it will be hosted by WILPF Australia under the theme Making Connections:
Environment, Social Justice and Demilitarisation for Feminist Peace.

Originally planned to take place in 2021 in Brisbane (Australia), it was postponed due to the uncertainties related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, some 12 months later the WILPF Australia Section is delighted to welcome all Congress participants!

The event will take place on Canapii, an online platform designed for large-scale virtual gatherings and with translation functionalities in 70 different languages.

The agenda consists of formal decision-making meetings on the weekends (16-17 July and 23-24 July), and workshops, networking, and debate sessions during weekdays (18-22 July). Congress is open to all WILPF members but formal decision making (voting) is reserved to Sections delegates and the members of the International Board.

Price

• Base Ticket: USD 15. This ticket gives access to the entirety of the week-long Congress.
• Buddy Ticket: USD 30. This ticket gives access to the entirety of the week-long Congress, in addition to covering the costs of another WILPF member interested in attending Congress.
• Solidarity Ticket: USD 60. This ticket covers costs mentioned in 1 and 2, in addition to contributing to Congress organisation costs such as fees for the virtual platform, interpreters, and other supporting material.
