A large part of WILPF’s work is to monitor discussions and developments at the global level, especially within the United Nations system. We keep track of what is being said and done in matters of peace and security, gender and human rights, and we identify the steps that have yet to be taken.
This is where our analysis comes in. WILPF produces a large number of publications, articles, newsletters and statements where we present data, provide perspectives and suggest solutions. We challenge patriarchal views and show that everything can, and must, be analysed through a gender lens.
We are part of several networks and cooperate closely with other civil society organisations to increase the impact of our analysis and influence decision-makers at all levels. Our consultative status with the UN also allows us to actively participate in debates that determine the UN’s actions. This way, our monitoring and analysis bring results.
