A large part of WILPF’s work on arms trade and disarmament is observing international forums where relevant discussions are held. Together with other civil society organisations, we monitor events that cover nuclear weapons, landmines, small arms, autonomous weapons, and much more.
We produce a wide range of newsletters and reports where we provide facts and analyse proceedings on various disarmament and arms control issues. During important conferences and negotiations, we make daily publications that show states’ positions and track the progress made.
By monitoring these events closely, we can provide detailed, in-depth reporting on important discussions that are rarely covered in regular news media outlets. We make this information available to a global audience, and our monitoring is relied upon by UN staff, diplomats and civil society around the world.
