Total and Universal Disarmament
The Disarmament programme advocates for global disarmament through research, policy analysis, and collaboration with international civil society campaigns. WILPF’s international disarmament work is managed through Reaching Critical Will (RCW).
Keeping in line with the roots of our feminist organisation, the disarmament programme maintains a gendered perspective in analysing the impact of weapons.
The programme’s research is directed towards prohibition, control, and disarmament of different weapons systems, and reducing global military spending and militarism.
The programme monitors international situations, reporting them to international bodies such as the United Nations. RCW similarly serves as UN-NGO liaison during disarmament meetings. This allows access to other civil society groups and aids the pursuit of disarmament on an international level.
