At COP29, WILPF called for a feminist, anti-militarist approach to climate action centred on three key demands: an equitable fossil fuel phase-out with transparency and accountability for military emissions; redirecting military spending toward climate finance to support mitigation, adaptation, and loss and damage; and ensuring that the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage (FRLD) is fully resourced and inclusive of climate-related conflicts. Together, these demands highlight the urgent need to shift global priorities from militarisation to sustainability, justice, and human security.
