SUMMARY:Feminist Resistance: Militarism and Climate Change
DESCRIPTION:The recent IPCC report has made the world strikingly aware that the current rate of climate change is a ‘code red for humanity’. Yet\, the role of the military as the world’s single greatest emitter in use of fossil fuels is sorely overlooked in traditional environment discussions. How can we raise awareness about this connection and address the role of militarism as a root cause of climate change? What are the connections between climate action\, feminism\, and peace? As we begin the road to COP26\, join WILPF members from Canada\, Sweden\, Zimbabwe\, and Norway\, as they discuss the situation in their region and share how they are mobilising feminist values to campaign for an end to militarism and towards climate justice\, from the grassroots to the international level.  \nDate: 6 October\, 4 pm CEST \nRegister:

DESCRIPTION:The 33rd International Congress will be taking place from the 28 – 30 June 2021 in Brisbane\, Australia. We will share more details in the coming months.  \nPlease\, note that the event has been postponed. \nDue to the situation of the current COVID-19 pandemic\, the WILPF International Board has decided to postpone the 33rd International Congress to 2022. \nWe want to make sure that the Congress is safe and accessible to all members\, Sections and Groups. The coming months will therefore be used to adapt the planning to the current pandemic\, and ensure that the Congress remains a space where members can connect\, inspire each other\, and take key decisions to strengthen our movement.\nMore information will be shared in due time.
