Yesterday, on 6 January 2016, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) claimed it had successfully tested a hydrogen bomb in its fourth nuclear test since October 2006.

WILPF, a partner of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), strongly condemns this alleged nuclear test and stresses nuclear weapons are unacceptable in their nature. Their use inflicts indiscriminate and barbaric harm on humans and disastrous environmental impacts.
