Following on from its 2019 submission, the CEDAW Committee’s half-day of general discussion on trafficking in women and girls in the context of global migration responded to the Committee’s call for comments on its first draft of the general recommendation with the attached submission.
WILPF provided comments and drafting recommendations especially with regard to neoliberalism and macro-economic reform policies; militarism, foreign military bases and arms transfers; States’ extraterritorial human rights obligations and States’ due diligence obligations in relation to acts or omissions by companies.
